Welcome back! Last week we covered how things outside of you can affect how you think and how you feel. No big surprise there, people have been saying that for decades, me included. But if you did the exercise in PART 1 sincerely and thought about the implications of it, hopefully you can see how easy it is for something to change your thinking and your mood. Even something as harmless as music (well, music isn’t all that harmless but that’s another subject). This is Advanced Game for the serious student. For those that know… those that have eyes to see and ears to hear – peep Game Let’s address something very few people pay attention to. Why do you find yourself naturally drawn to certain things? Why do certain thoughts keep cycling through your mind? Sometimes daily? And at the same time you have thoughts of things you naturally don’t like or are repulsed by. Let me give you some examples. Some people like apples, other people don’t like apples; some people enjoy physical exercise; other people dread the thought of it. Some people can see the good in people; other people usually only see the bad. Now, who’s right and who’s wrong? The right or wrong lies in the Perspective of a person – how they choose to look at something. I’ll give you a somewhat silly example (but real none-the-less): Let’s say you had a bag full of fresh hamburgers and you tried to give it away for FREE to someone who chose to live as a vegetarian. They would turn down your offer. Free food might be appealing, but to someone who chose the lifestyle of not eating meat, that offer wouldn’t be that appealing. Is refusing that bag of hamburgers wrong? No, to them it would be right. Now if you took this bag of FREE hamburgers to a homeless person who hasn’t eaten a decent meal in a day or two, what do you think their reaction would be? They would most likely be grateful and accept it without a second thought. Is accepting that bag of hamburgers right? Yes, because to them turning that opportunity down would be wrong. Same bag of free hamburgers but 2 totally different responses based off 2 different Perspectives. Within your mind is your own personal world. But this world has a fatal flaw. Or I should say, the “Matrix” within contains this flaw. For most people that inner “Matrix” is based off of the outer “Matrix”, the world outside of themselves that they have been taught is real. This inner “Matrix” lives and breathes in their mind because that’s what they choose to feed their mind. Always remember, you become what you think about. Or to make it even clearer – you become your dominant frame of mind. The dominant force always wins. And if you’re not careful, this inner “Matrix” can become like a prison. What do I mean by that? When you ignore things you are naturally attracted to and things you are NOT naturally attracted to you get away from yourself. You neglect who and what you really are. And this is one of the biggest deceptions of the “Matrix” – to make you feel wrong (or guilty or fearful) for NOT thinking and behaving “normal”. And what do these feelings (and guilt and fear) do? It leads to stress, depression and a feeling of being “empty” inside; unfulfilled. Your life then becomes a struggle because you are not really being yourself. So if you’re not being yourself, who are you being? You’re being whatever the outer “Matrix” dictates because you accept the outer “Matrix” as real. If you agree to the outer “Matrix”, if this is what you constantly feed your mind, this becomes how you think. This becomes your dominant frame of mind. An illusion made real by you. This may come off a little preachy, but stay with me and peep Game. Most people dress in fashions that are socially in-style. But who dictates those styles? Most of us have been taught that gold is more valuable than silver. Who made that decision? It wasn’t you or me last time I checked. Most of us have been taught that you need to make goals in life, but then we are told what those goals should be. We are shown what we should have and what we should own. We are told what success is and what success isn’t. For example: If I have XYZ and another person doesn’t, then I’m doing better. But is that really true? If I help an elderly lady across the street, that’s consider a kind gesture. But just because you did 1 kind act, does that make you a kind person at all times? Why have we accepted all these ideals? And the bigger question, how many of our own ideas do we live? How many things, that we’re naturally attracted to, do we go after and try to have? Some of us stop ourselves strictly out of fear of no longer fitting-in with others. Whether they are family, our social circle or society in general. Why is it acceptable for a woman to wear a bikini at the beach in front of hundreds of strangers? But if she answers her front door in underwear, that isn’t acceptable? Doesn’t a bikini cover just as much skin as underwear in most cases? Does that line of thinking even make any sense? Why all these questions? Because I want you to really think about who you think you are (who you have made yourself think you are). You have accepted the thoughts, Values, ethics and morals of the outer “Matrix” and therefore have trapped yourself in your own inner “Matrix”. You can pull yourself away from the outer “Matrix” but the inner “Matrix” in your own mind, you can’t get away from. It’s something you have to face and deal with – you can’t leave your mind somewhere, it’s with you 24/7/365. Here’s a challenge for every true student of The Game. Start asking yourself, “Why?” Dig into your own mind and begin to ask yourself why you think the way you do and why you keep yourself away from so many things. These are just some of the “inner demons” you have to face – if you want to go deeper into that, you can catch an entire podcast I did about that [HERE]. There must become a point where you begin to free yourself from both the outer “Matrix” and the inner “Matrix”. This is a HUGE subject and this is just an introduction. As The Game rolls on you need to decide where you want to be in it. There’s no better time to make that decision than NOW. Until next time… Curious about the Game?
