Sometimes I wonder why I continue to do what I do. Let me paint the picture for you… A couple of weeks ago I was on an internet forum. I was attempting to explain to some people who consider themselves “players” (I use that term loosely) why what they’re learning isn’t going to work well. What I tried to clarify was – without a firm base to build on they were just going to be spinning their wheels in frustration. I unraveled out my pedigree (proof that I am who I claim I am) and proceeded to give them some Real Game. And what did I get in return? I got flamed (internet criticized). You would think that a person who has almost 20 years of experience doing what they’re trying to do would at least be given an ear. But, I got slapped in the face by reality… people don’t want REAL GAME! People want the flash with no substance. People want tricks, short-cuts, ego-boosts and life-hacks. They want the shell of a house without the wiring. They want the car, but don’t want to put gas in to make it run. For a real Player, this is frustrating. Real Game is a precious commodity. Think about it. It’s something that can be given and never taken back. Real Game is very rare now-a-days and like any Player getting older, I want to pass it on. The problem? Most people don’t want it – they want the fantasy but not the reality. I can provide the fantasy they want, it wouldn’t be difficult. But my hopes are that people would want the real, not the fake. The “keep it real generation” doesn’t want what’s REAL – peep the irony in that… Now, from a genuine Player’s Perspective this is nothing new. People resist anything that threatens what they think they know. But there’s an old quote that says, “The mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work properly unless it’s open.” It’s no mystery that we live in the information age. The internet has opened up access to a ton of information – some of it good, some of it bad and most of it ugly. Game was always been kept away from the general public, for many reasons, but Game is no longer “a secret”. It is still however, vastly misunderstood; and from the looks of it, it’s going to remain that way. As an author I’ve distilled years and years of information into books, blog posts and podcasts. For a sincere student of The Game, they can get over 17 years of hard learned lessons and information in only a few weeks. What other short-cuts or life-hacks do those “pretend players” need? I see tons of the younger generation doomed to lose. They’re involved in Games that they don’t fully understand. The results of which can be pretty severe. On the street layers that can mean incarceration, life-time probation or even death. On the “legitimate” layers, it means a lifetime of servitude and a retirement plan that will leave them broke before the age of 70. But maybe I’m not facing reality, maybe I’m living in a fantasy myself. Maybe the top 5% of the population who actually “get it” will continue to be the only people that really “get it”. So for those of you out there that seek Real Game, it’s still being taught. There aren’t many of us, but we’re around. I just caution you to really look at where you’re getting your “game” from because at the end of the day, results don’t lie. Not everyone who claims they have it, really do. And some of those that fight against it are the ones that are too lazy to seek it and put it together (generally speaking). They want a preacher and a motivational coach; not a teacher who won’t hold their hand and lie – telling them everything is going to work itself out. How often does that actually happen? Let the squares looking for short-cuts get what they pay for. Let them remain in ignorance of a simple truth – nothing can rise higher than its source – weak information breeds weak results. It’s just simple cause and effect; if the cause is weak, the effect is weak. But… squares will argue about that too. So be it. Let them have what they want. Me personally, I’m going to stop standing in their way. To close this rant let me give something to you real and aspiring Players out there. Now, more than ever, is a great time to tighten your Game. In this day and time, a tight Game will get you further than it ever has before. The general population doesn’t understand it and more importantly, they don’t want to. As we all know (or should), knowledge over something, gives you power over that thing and over those who have no knowledge of it. You should be able to enter any Game you choose and excel. When they ask you how you did it, just smile and tell them what they want to hear, “I guess I just got lucky.” Ok... rant, off... To my real Players, stay in motion.
