Top 40 Quotes To Think Like A Hustler

Like you, I’m a constant work in progress. I’m both a student and a teacher because there’s always more to learn. I would never claim to be better than anyone else. I will say however, I don’t THINK like everyone else. Most Hustlers don’t. Every so often I get asked, “Why do you think the way you do?” Well, there are a few straight-forward answers to that question:

1. I wanted to be above average;
2. I sought out men and women much wiser than myself;
3. I was willing to make mistakes and fail in order to learn how to do something right. I became a scientist of sorts.

The essence of The Game is INFORMATION; a certain uncommon type of information. A real Hustler is a thinker.
 
On the ‘street layers’ of The Game, the uncommon sense was always passed from the mouth of a teacher to the ear of a student. Usually this uncommon sense came in the form of easy to remember words of wisdom – simple quotes that could be learned to keep a Hustler’s thinking in check. More logic, less emotion.
 
Here are some of my favorite quotes (in no particular order) I learned from my time in various Games. As simplistic as some of these might seem, they’re all laced with undeniable wisdom. All these are geared to keep the Hustler moving and shaking through life like a fish in water. Enjoy!

1. You’re only as strong as your weaknesses.
2. If you don’t know or even if you do, don’t tell.
3. A sharp tongue cuts your own throat.
4. The toes you step on today may be the foot in your ass tomorrow.
5.  If you make $10, put up $6 and live off the rest.
6. When there’s smoke there’s fire. You can conceal fire but you can’t hide smoke.
7. Pressure bursts pipes.
8.  To break a chain, always pull on the weakest link.
9.  If you’re not the card dealer, don’t show your hand first.
10. Under promise and over-deliver.
11. The Heavenly Father gave you two eyes, two ears and one mouth. You should watch and listen twice as much as you speak.
12. Think before you spend your money and think twice before you speak.
13. You don’t have to chase a fox. If you put all the chickens in one bunch the fox will come to you.
14. You lose the bait when you catch the fish.
15. Some defeats are really victories and vice versa.
16. It takes way too many blows to hit a nail in the dark.
17. If you know you’re surrounded by snakes, cut the grass so you can see them.
18. You are never as strong as you think you are. Neither is anyone else.
19. Patience, patience, patience…
20. If you must go through hell to get to heaven, make sure you run very fast.
21. If you pay well, you are served well.
22. In a storm, pray to God but still swim toward the shore.
23. A fair exchange is not a robbery.
24. No one notices when the floors clean, but everyone notices it when it’s dirty.
25.  If you only Hustle for yourself, in the end, you will only have yourself.
26. There are two sides to every coin and three sides to every story.
27. If you win, everyone wants to be your friend. If you lose only your true friends will remain.
28. People are more likely to take the easiest route and it’s usually the wrong choice.
29. Don’t make an enemy if you don’t have to.
30. What’s coming in the future is paid for in the present.
31. When you reach one goal get on with the next one.
32. Big problems are smaller when you are looking at them from a distance.
33. Praise and criticism are temporary just as victories and defeats are temporary.
34. Dogs bite and claw so if you fight with one expect just that.
35.  If you don’t know what to do with your life, there’s someone out there that does.
36. Have your cake and eat it too. Cake is made to be eaten.
37. Eventually, no one wants to feed a greedy man.
38. Don’t loan money to a fool you can’t afford to lose.
39. If you’re going to sit at the table, then bring something to the table.
